On the fence about my services? It's important to me that you find the best editor for you and your story! Before booking any of my editing packages, I will perform a sample edit of the first chapter or two of your book (up to 4,000 words) totally FREE, so you can get a feel for my editing style before making any commitments. This also allows me to assess the specific needs of your story and make recommendations on which editing package would be the right fit for you! If my style isn't for you, you're off the hook! Proofreading

If your novel has already been through major edits and just needs some fine-tuning before publishing, my proofreading service is perfect for you! I will comb through your book to correct any errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting. Let's make sure none of those pesky typos make it to print! I recommend having any necessary beta reading, developmental edits, line edits, and copy edits completed prior to beginning a proofread. Proofreading should be the last step in your editing process before formatting and publishing!

Copy Editing

If you've finished your book, but you're not sure if you've placed commas correctly or if your formatting matches industry recommendations, my copy editing service is the right fit for you! During a copy edit, I will meticulously comb through your story, focusing on consistency throughout your writing and formatting. I will also ensure that your story meets industry standards and adheres to a style guide. I follow standard Chicago Manual of Style recommendations for American English books, and Oxford recommendations for British English books. I recommend having any necessary developmental edits, beta reading, and line edits completed prior to beginning copy edits.

Line Editing

Does your book need a little more TLC before it's ready to publish? I've got your back! Line edits are ideal for books that need a greater focus on rephrasing for clarity and flow. During a line edit, I will meticulously comb through your book, line by line, offering suggested rephrases that improve the flow of your story while keeping your voice intact. Line edits can help reduce redundancy, lower word count, improve word choices, maintain consistent tense and POV, and more! I recommend having any necessary beta reads and developmental edits completed prior to beginning line edits.
